English title: Classification of Surveys
Author(s): Ineke A.L. Stoop - Eric Harrison -
Type: Book chapter
This chapter will give a short overview of the different ways surveys can be classified. In a good survey, the sample that has been studied represents the target population, and the information that has been collected represents the concepts of interest. The standardized procedures with which data are collected are mostly, but not always, questionnaires which are either presented to the sample persons by an interviewer or completed by the sample persons themselves.
