Abstract

Discrimination experienced by ethnic minorities women in different European countries is the main subject of this paper. The data of the European Social Survey (ESS) are used to find answers to several related questions. Firstly, how many women belong to the group of ethnic minorities according to various criteria? Secondly, in which degree do these ethnic minorities women experience discrimination as measured in the ESS? Thirdly, do they experience multiple discrimination which is partly caused by gender discrimination? Although the analysis of the ESS-data provides promising results, its sample characteristics and the measurement of perceived discrimination do not allow to give final answers.
