These are the project specification documents relating to rounds 1-5 of the ESS.  The specification documents are revised in the light of each successive round and any changes to procedures and requirements are highlighted in an Appendix at the end of the ‘Specification for Participating Countries’ document. The specification should be read in its entirety by national teams to ensure that fieldwork is conducted according to these updated specifications.
